Finally, the long wait to harvest something from the garden is over. Evvai is an exclamation to express extreme joy (very much like yayyyyy!), and it felt like finding the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow when I spotted the first zuke in the garden. We already had the inflatable hand (to cheer on Italy in the World Cup), but since we lost, the hand has been repurposed mainly as an object to shoo away flies. Zucchini-1, tomatoes-0!

whoo hoo!
And the best part is that we can eat the skin since I don't use pesticides!
Rowena - So glad I "refound" you here. Are you still in Lecco? I have a favor to ask. I'll be bringing a group of writers to Varenna next year and want to find a small cheese producer nearby to give them a tour of how gorgonzola or taleggio is made. Do you know of any such cheesemakers willing to do this - near Varenna? Good luck with your gardening. Love the photo with the "hands." Thanks
Hi Linda yes I'm still here. I'm sorry to report that I don't know of any caseificio in/near Varenna that does that sort of thing. I did find a link for the Consorzio Tutela Taleggio, and perhaps you might be able to get some assistance from them. Good luck!
