Harvest Tuesday

I keep thinking that one day I'll get it right and participate in Harvest Monday, but about the only things I've gotten so far are the occasional handful of datterino tomatoes and zukes here and there. We harvested 500 grams of mirabelle plums yesterday and they aren't looking as good as last year's batch. I blame it all on the weather.

The only vegetable not fresh from the garden are the white eggplants; those came from Esselunga supermarket. Our favorite store occasionally brings in uncommon produce to see if the buying public will bite but I'm guessing that white eggplants won't leave too much of an impression. Purple is still king.

Today's high: 25°C / 77°F

aw too bad about your plums.

It must've been that cold snap that we had after March. The cherries and japanese pear blossoms went kaput, with only the plum and peach hanging in there but they looked sad. In fact the peaches aren't looking so great either. Gardening can be so exasperating!

I can only imagine, with the amount of land you set aside! hopefully the next time you plant, it will be more fruitful!

Erk.... the weather can cause havoc with our harvest plans.....
Your tomatoes and zukes look great, how did your plums taste? Not sure about the eggplants they don't look quite right somehow.

Aren't they the most strange-looking things? Even my husband was surprised when I told him that I'd found white eggplant. Pretty soon they'll come up with all the colors of the rainbow!
