After all that rain

Complete turnaround in weather today, and thankfully not much damage to speak of. It amazes me that some plants come through quite well even in the worst conditions, but I was definitely surprised that the Black Aztec corn was still standing.

Kat - you know that I really, really want to try growing rice, but I'm holding off until I can figure out where to put a small plastic kiddie swimming pool. Next year I will try growing the Kamo eggplants again, I think they failed because it was too cold this spring. I should be receiving some seeds for mitsuba, daikon sprouts and korean shiso in the mail!

hope they work out for you, seems the climate is colder than most areas in japan during spring.
